AzBHC is a progressive psychotherapy practice in Phoenix, Arizona serving a diverse clientele from various neighborhoods that broader the Central Phoenix area. We provide exceptional individual, couples, family and group therapy, with children, teens and adults, and specialize in collaborative, innovative and post-modern approaches to helping creative people create their lives.

The Position

There are many creative ways we might work together. If it seems we might be a good fit, let’s talk. A new therapist will likely begin on a part-time basis, participating in building the practice through clinical work, including psychotherapy and group co-therapy assignments; group/ collaborative supervision; and related practice building responsibilities.

Interested?

Prospective applicants must possess a current Arizona State License to practice psychotherapy (LCSW, LPC, LISAC LMFT, Psychology (PhD, or Psychiatric), or Nurse Practitioner). Of particular importance in a successful match for the practice is an appreciation of the progressive methodology practiced at AzBHC as well as a passion for collaboration and for learning and developing a methodology that is in critical discourse with many of the fundamental assumptions of historical and contemporary psychology. It is the collaborative interactions of all therapists that are essential in maintaining the growth of the private outpatient practice and our reputation.

Therapeutic Methodology

Fundamental to understanding the therapeutic approach cultivated at AzBHC is recognition that a broad diversity of points of view, not just in clinical training, but also in life experience provides a rich context in which to co-create both a specific therapeutic treatment as well as a group psychotherapy practice on the whole. Further, there is a recognition that current models of psychotherapy, while providing much help to many, are insufficient, and too often stigmatizing, marginalizing and limiting to the very growth they intend to create. Rather than imposing a new model, the practice of therapy at AzBHC is seen as an attempt to continuously co-create the therapy with everyone involved, including patients and clinicians in this continual process.

To Apply:

The application process should be seen less as “filling a vacancy” than as a search for an excellent fit. If you’re interested, please email your resume (no phone calls, please) and a 1-page description of how to your therapeutic point of view relates to the mission and purpose of AzBHC as described in this website to: azbhcoffice@yahoo.com

Important notes:
Interested applicants should become familiar with the contents of AzBHC prior to proceeding with the application process, although questions, challenges and further exploration are welcome. We are looking for therapists who are passionate about being a part of building a deeply collaborative, progressive outpatient therapy center. A desire to work as part of a team is essential. Those looking to supplement a private practice or for referrals to kindle a fledgling practice will not find AzBHC a successful fit. Position is as an Independent Contractor and compensation is competitive and based on billable hours. Credentialing with insurance panels will be facilitated.
